These last few days we have had the “Beast from the East” up here in Edinburgh, and there has been a fair bit more snow than we are used to. So this is me staying home for the third day (I think, I’ve kind of lost track!) ’cause I have a bump and you know what they say, rather safe than sorry. So what has my time been spent on? Well, sleeping, cleaning, reading, and Youtube binge-watching. All going well in about three months time we’ll have a new addition to our family and let’s just say that my browsing history is… well, a little bit cloth-heavy!
We would like to use cloth nappies (or diapers, as they’re known to some of you!), and to be honest, I am going a little crazy with all the video reviews I’ve seen. We don’t have a drier and they would actually be air-dried indoors, so I am looking for some easy-to-dry ones and at the same time, cheaper rather than expensive would be good. Of course, expensive would be fine if they’re absolutely worth it!
I’ve spent many hours surfing the web looking for information, but one thing that’s really annoying me is that you can’t actually go to a shop and see the product yourself, because to my knowledge, there is no such shop here! Even though some stores, such as Boots and Mothercare stock some cloth, they don’t seem to have them in stock and well, I’m not sure about ordering the only brand they have… The good thing is that in Edinburgh there is a bit of promotion of real nappies, including the subsidised Changeworks pack (out of stock when I went to buy it, so I’ll have to keep looking!) and the Edinburgh Real Nappy Community, which organises informative meetups I hope to be able to catch.
So in the meanwhile I’ll keep Youtubing, and if you have some insight you would like to share, please do so!
