I originally bought this pack of three People towels over a year ago, when ordering Onya drinking bottles from onyabags.co.uk. At the time I realised it was one of my most useless purchases, just because I never really find myself in situations where I would need to use it. I am one of those people who hate using handdryers after using a public toilet, not because of the germs but just because I don’t have the patience to stand there. However I don’t often take paper towels either, because I feel bad about the disposable element. I would normally just dry my hands on my clothes.
Since I bought this I have been carrying the towel with me just in case – and forget that it’s there until it’s really cold and I just have to dry my hands. So in the end I have actually been using it.
The People towel is a 100% cotton towel which measures 21 x 21 cm. It comes in a wide range of designs, most of which I love. Across one of the corners it has a little tag which you can use to hang it from your backpack or whatever, to make it easier to reach. The only thing that could be an issue over time is that I don’t know how well it will age. It feels really light and is thin – yet absorbent – and I can’t help but wonder how long it will last in good usable condition. So far it has not visibly deteriorated, although it is true that I haven’t used it that much.
Some things you could use it for:
Drying your hands in public washrooms.
Drying your sweat on really warm days or after working out.
Holding an ice-cold can or bottle.
Holding an ice-cream cone on a warm summer day.
Wiping your mouth after eating messy food on a picnic (with or without water).
Messy kids – enough said!
Putting ice in it and using it as an ice-pack.
Wrapping bars of soap in if you’re travelling around.
…and I’m sure there’s more!
All in all I would say it’s a cute really little towel that can come in quite handy. I do have a feeling I will be getting some more sometime.
